Weekly Announcements

Santa’s Anonymous - It will be on December 17th.    Cadets will be helping Santa’s Anonymous by being Porters and help carry bags of Christmas presents to vehicles for delivery to families.  Dress is civvies with cadet touque and parka (Dress warmly – temps will be chilly!).  Timings are: 0815 hrs - 1130 hrs.  Location is 12122-68th St. (Jerry Forbes Centre).  Details will be e-mailed to those who are signed up.

National Courses - For Level 3 and above cadets.  The application process has started.  All narratives and school marks must be submitted by December 21st, our last parade night before Christmas.  Please pick up and complete a “Cadet Choices” form.  You can put the National courses and Regional courses on the same sheet.  3 choices only.


21 December - 699 Christmas Party -  Dress for that night will be civilian clothes – Christmas hats, ties, etc are welcome!  We will be doing a fun gift exchange during the 3rd period, gifts should be no more that $15.

 

Christmas Charities - This year, the Squadron would like to support a couple of Charities – Ronald McDonald House and the Edmonton Food Bank.  We will be collecting donations of unwrapped toys for Ronald McDonald House, and on December 21st, our last night, we will collect any donations you wish to make for the Edmonton Food Bank.  There is a sign-up list posted for those that would like to help deliver the toys to Ronald McDonald House on December 22nd.

 

Squadron Web Page - The Squadron web page is currently under re-construction, so you may have to search around a little more to find things.

 

New Facebook Page - The squadron has a new Facebook page.  It is a closed page and only for current squadron cadets and parents.  This will be a forum for questions, information, etc.  It is called     699 Jasper Place      Go join it today!

 

Ground School - Ground School is back at Aldergrove Community Hall for the remaining sessions.  Sunday, December 18th, 1800 hrs - 2100 hrs.

 

Band - Next Band will be Monday, December 19th 1930 hrs - 2100 hrs.

 

Effective Speaking - Next meeting will be Monday, December 12th, 1830 hrs - 2100 hrs.


Drill Team - Next Drill Team will be Monday, December 19th.  1730 hrs - 1930 hrs.

 

Marksmanship - Monday, December 19th, 1830 hrs - 2100 hrs.


 

Lost – Black back pack - has been missing for a couple of weeks.  It had a wallet with some cash, pencils and a note book.  I would hope that if someone took it accidentally, it will be returned this coming week.

Cookie Dough Fundraiser - Orders will be ready for pick up on December 21st.


Save the date!  The SSC will be putting on an Elvis night, with Elvis tribute singer, and a delicious meal all in one price!  Date is February 18th, 2017.  Put it in your calendar!
